Catechism Week 18
Q18 What is sinful about man’s fallen condition? The sinfulness of the fallen condition is twofold. First, in what is commonly called original sin, there is the guilt of Adam’s first sin with its lack of original righteousness and the corruption of his whole nature. Second are all the specific acts of disobedience that come from original sin.
Psalm 53:2-3 ESV
God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.
Our hope we place in Christ
Enemies of God We were far away Rejecting Him, His plan, His reign Choosing our own way Yet He delivered us From dark and sin’s domain Adopted us to be His sons And offered us His name chorus For me He died My soul retrieved His people come alive When they believe For us He died For us He lives And everlasting life He freely gives Our hope we place in Christ Who gave Himself for us And paid the price of all our sin To rescue us No merit of our own Can the wrath of God suppress Our only hope is found In Jesus righteousness And now for us He stands Before the Father’s throne He shows His wounded hands And names us as His own God’s grace has planned it all Our part is to believe And recognize His work of love Repent and Christ receive Words and Music by Norman J Clayton and Clint Carter CCLI No. 3203987
